Bernard Shaw on Christmas Christmas is described by Mr. Bernard Shaw as an orgy of gluttony and cadging. "There is a great exchange of pretty little cards professing peace on earth between people who could not sleep in their beds if the couutry was not armed to the teeth," he said. "1 am not acquainted with any person who does not, in sane private conversation, describe Christmas as a nuisance and '•ejoice when it is over. T have no personal bias against Christmas, as I liappen to be landlord of a provision ahop, ' '
