WELLINGTON, This Day. Miss Nettie Penham Arnold, who is reported to have died of injuries received in a fall from an underground train in London, was matron of the Wellington St. Helens Hospital. She was trained at the Dunedin Hospital, and later appointed to take charge of the Palmerston South Maternity Hospital. Later she was matron of the Invercargill St. Helens Hospital, where she remained till 1933, when- she received an appointment to Wellington. She left in February last on a year's leave of absence for study abroad, visiting Holland, Denmark, Sweden and Finland to study midwifery work. Her report is expected from the High Commissioner's office in the near future. Her relatives live near Ashburton.
