PROVINCIAL RACING

(Special to the Herald-Tribune.)

New Year Meetings Upen on Satnrday FORM REVIEWED

WELLINGTON, This 'Day. Racegoers in the Wellington provincial area will be well catered for with racing on Saturday, for in addition to the meeting at Hastings, the Wairarapa, Marton and Stratford clubs will open their New Year fixtures. It appears likely that the fields at Wairarapa will thin down a little. The bulk of the horses engaged were seen out at Manawatu, but there is a little fresh blood to lend interest to the proceedings and confuse the form. The following horses may be well supported: — NOVICE STAKES. — Mob Rule, Trebor, Haupongi. * FEATHERSTON HANDICAP. — Haughty Winner, Mister Quex. WAIRARAPA CUP.— Tiger Gain, Gay Hunter, Lucullus Lad. BIDWILL NURSERY HANDICAP.— Jeanne, Dissipation. CHAMPION HACK HANDICAP.— Good Sun, Galteemore, Le Toquet. WHAREKAKA HANDICAP. — Mea Mea, Free Gold, Jewish Lad. WARDELL HANDICAP. — Master Cyklon, Lone Raider. ELECTRIC HNDICAP. — Diamond Cutter, Lindrum, Dancing Flame.
