MONTHLY INGLESIDE

Port Caledonian Society The monthly' ingleside of the Port Caledonian Society was held in the Buffalo Hall, Port Ahuriri, last evening when there was again a large attendance, including visitors from Wellington. Auckland, Christchurch, Palmerston North, Rotorua and other centres. Chieftain McDonald, in the absence of the Chief. Mr J. McConnell, welcomed the visitors and hoped they would carry with them pleasant memories of the Port inglesides. A fine musical and dance programme was arranged by Miss Helen Dykes and Mrs Reid, songs being contributed by tho Misses Margaret Hellyer, Stella Clialmers, Joan Anderson, Margaret Daily, K. Williams, Heather Stuart. Yalerie Olliver and Mrs Reid; a Highland fling by Joy Key, G. Smith, E. Gilbertson, June Allen, and Moira Reid; seann truibhas by G. Smith, skipping dance by Joy Key, and an instrumental trio by Mrs Reid's party. The whole programme was much appreciated and Chieftain McDonald expressed thanks to the organisers and entertainers. Mr W. Mitchell played most of the accompaniments, PipeMajor Lawson playing for the Scottish items. The society 's Pipe Band also played a selection. Miss W. Mitchell and H. Foskett played for the usual oldtime dances, while Mr W. J. Key was a most efficient M.C. The next ingleside irill be a "Burns night.'
