HAUL OF 149 FISH
Hastings Fishermen Fail to Reach 150 Mark GOOD CATCHES AT HAUMOANA "I'll push.- you overboard if you don't catch another fish," was the threat made by one member of a party of young men were were out fishing off the beach at Clifton a few days ago. The party were in high glee for, in a little under two hours, they had colleeted 149 fish, but, try as they would, and did, they could not catch another to round off the figures. Some excellent fishing has been provided all along the coast-line from Cape Kidnappers to past Haumoana. Several big hauls. ineluding the "one mentioned above, and another of over 130 fish, have been made of shoal schnapper, which have been unusually plentiful in tlie vicinity of Cape Kidnappers and Clifton. Sehnapper and kahawai have been in good supply at Haumoana, also, and every day this pa/sfc week, several parties have been out for a few hours to return with big catches. Fishing from the beach, too, has been exceptionally popular during the holiday period, and the calches have been quite satisfactory. J
