Pcrsbnification of beauty, Resplendent as any sweet bride, Ornately endowed by the Maker, God little to thee has denied; Rejoicing in beautiful parklands, Excelling the best in tlie land, Supremo in aboreal beauty, Sweet flowers on every jiand. Increasing each year i^i importance, Vast acres of fertile ten'ain, Encireling tliy garden-like borough, Hail Hastings tliou Queen of the Plain; Assured is thy glorious future, Surrounded by wealth as thou be, Thy numerous beautiful buildings, Indeefl a great credit to thee.
