FAST HURDLING

Sharpley In Form at Rotorua At Rotorua on Boxing Day, Frauk Sharpley met Bowie in the 120 yard# hurdles, Bowie winning by- inches io 14 4-5secs., but the course was slighlljr down-hill. Later the pair again tried conclusions, but running the reverse way of the track. On this occasion Sharpley won by two feet in 15secs. Both times are within the present New Zealand record of 15 l-5secs., held by, H. E. Wilson. This is the fourth occasion on which Sharpley has got within the present New Zealand record time, but he has yet to have one of his efforts recognised. Later in the day Sharpley ran in th# 220 yards low hurdles in 25secs., which equals the New Zealand record at pre-' sent standing to the credit of P. A« Bowie, of Auckland.
