Good Catches at Waitahanui Mouth

TAUPO, This Day. The weather still continues to be warm with a nice cool breeze. No doubt owing to the warm weather, fishing on the Waikato of late has been rather hard. This also applies to trolling on the lake. The Waitahanui mouth has been attracting a large number of anglers. Twenty-seven were present on one day, and there. were aetually 22 rods fishing at the one time. However, there is now a distinet alteration in the formation of the mouth, which is really divided into three channels. This. in, the last couple of days, has apparently affected the fishing. .It is of course expected that it will soon right itself and che fishing improve again. The Parson's Glory and the Tiger Boss Flys are being used extensively in thie afea. Mr C. McLean, of Napier, in four days at the Waitahanui mouth landed 38 fish with an average of 41bs., the best being Slbs. Mr J. McKeesiclc, of Te Pohue, at the same spot. landed eight fish in good condition, the best going Glbs. * Mr T. A. Hislop, Mayor of Wellington, who is spending a fishing holiday at Eulljames's camp, landed eight fish with the ' wet fly, these being 41bs. Brigadier-General Bate. of England, secured eight fish, the best being 5£lbs., at Eulljames's. His average was 41bis. Captain Matthews, of the Indian Army, landed six nice Hsh, the best going 4Jlbs, with an average of 34lbs. Mr L. Bradley, of Napier, fishing at Waitahanui, landed nine, the best going 5£Tbs., while Mr A. Winstone, of Aucklanded. landed eight nice fish at the mouth of the Waitahanui during the week-end.
