(Received 29, 11.30 a.m.) LO.NDON, Dec. 28. One of the tragedies of the Great War was recalled by the death, from tuberculosis, cf Ivor Gurney, aged 47, musician and poet who, before the war, was regarded as a genius comparable with Schubert, but his •, physical and mental powers were ruined by war experiences. He wrote 200 songs and many violin and piano compositions, but only 40 songs and two piano pieces were published. Twenty songs will appear shortly.
