OUT-OF-DOOR MEALS ARE IN THE FASHION
Out-or-door meals have become the fashion in Engliand during the last few years, and all hinds of attractive ideas for informal luncheons and suppers are now to be seen. Silver and fine china look out of plaee in a garden, and hostesses are using pottery and wood and bright flowered substantial china in place of them. The newest fireproof dishes are brown, lincd with honey colour. You can gst them in all hinds of shapes and sizes, and they look very attractive on an outdoor luncheon table, spread with a coloured cloth of homespun or hand— woven linen. Guests like to mix their own salads these days, so it has become the fashion ao place all the salad ingredients in oue large bowl with plates besides it and a series of small wooden dishes contaiuing salt and pepper and mustard and jil and vinegar. Green glasses for summer drinks look cool and pretty. Sets of them are sold with matching ice plates in a shell pattern, or, as a change from glass, you may choose the new cider and lemonade sets in earthenware with a translucent glaze, which can be had in a varioty of attractive eolours. -
