Money from Tournaments
(By Air Mail-
LONDON, Dec, 11. Before fche Lawn Tennis Association's annual mecting in London comes the whole question of tonnis shamateurism, when the management committee will seek powers to get separate, detailed acoounts of every tournament, copies of all vouchers to be given up on demand. Common knowledge is the method of lournament committoes awarding the value of any sum up to say, £40. Oiheially these vo-jhcrs are supposed to be changed for luxury goods at certain stores. Actually, holders of tbem take them to the stores, take the aetual cash less a percentag0, are given a faked receipt for goods to the full value. It is impossible at present to traeo and exposo this practice, for soveral important jewellers' firms land thi iuselves to it. Anotlier practice tlat will be- exumiued is the takirg of money by important players for using the teuuis cquipment of certain firma.
