Noxious Gases from Smeliing Works ONE WORKMAN DEAD

(Eeceived 28, 11.30 a.m.) BEUSSELS, Dec. 27. One workmau is dead and 20 were injured, believed to be due tc poison fog from blast furnaces at smelting works near Charleroi. A thick fog hanging over the district is believed to have prevented the escape of noxious gases from the smolte staclcj. The tragedy recalls a similar disaster in 1930, in which 70 perished.
