BOXING DAY BOWLING
Heretaunga Club's Open Tourney WIN FOR BENNETT The Heretaunga Bowling Club held its annual Boxing Day tournament "under ideal conditions. The green rolled out well, and 16 teams took part in the day's games, including one team from Matamata. Two sections playing five games of ono and a-quarter hours each were played, Stewart (Matamata) winning the A section, and Bennett (Hastings) the B section. In the final 21 heads were played, and after a keenly-con-tested game Bennett proved the winner by 21 to 16. Following are' the resulta: — A SECTION. First Eound, Heretaunga: Kessell, Moore, Usherwood^ McBride lost to Kia Toa: Arkens, Coxon, Sykes, Burge. Matamata: Stewart, Buckley, Lovridge, Stewart beat Napier: Angove, McNiven, Elmes, Williams. Heretaunga: Lynch, Webber, Warren, Hawley beat Kia Toa: Adamson, Lassea, Bissell, Engebretson. Heretaunga: Dunn, Sharkey, Burfield, Jenkinson beat Hastings: Watters, Johnston, Duff, Parkinson.
