NAPIER BRIDE CHOOSES FROCK OF GOLD LACE

LYONS — CLOTHIER The Trinity Methodist Church, Napier, was beautifully decorated for the wedding of Alys Valmai. eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs E. G. Clothier, of Napier, and Cyril Russell, youngest son of Mrs and the late Mr A. Lyon, of Palmerston North. The Rev. J. H. Odell officiated at the eeremony, and Mrs L. J. Prime presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a lovely frock of gold lace, with cowled neckline and elbow-length sleeves. The skirt fell gracefully to form a train at the back, and her veil of gold tulle was arranged from a halo oi gold flowers. She carried a sheaf of gold-tinted Chri'stmas lilies. Four maids attended the bride — Miss Kelena Hull (chief), Miss Jean Harper (Dannevirke), wearing lavendar taffeta frocks fashioned on princess lines with sashes in . a deeper shade of lavender and halos 1> tone. They carried bouquets of gold and mauve flowers. The bride's two younger sisters, Marie and Joy Clothier, wore dainty ' frocks of gold taffeta effectively trimmed with narrow pleating. Their halos were of gold flowers, and they carried Victorinn posies to tone. » Mr H. E. Ellis, of Taradale, was best. man, and Mr W. Clothier, brother of the bride, the groomsman. The reception was held at the Silver Slipper. where Mr and Mrs Clothier received their guests, the latter wearing a model ensemble of navy floral silk crepe, a smll navy hat and carried a bouquet in autumn tonings. Mrs A. Lyons, mother of the bridegroom. wore an attractive suit of navy maroeain. smart navy hat and carried a bouquet of sweet peas and delphiniums. Mr and Mrs Lyon, who are both members of the Oxford Group, will spend their honeymoon in Sydney, where they will attend an Oxford Group house party. Mrs Lyon travelled in a suit of honey-gold maroeain pin-striped in brown and a brown halo hat and brown accessories.
