WAIPAWA REGENT
"GORGEOUS HUSSY" TO-NIGHT. With brilliant acting performances from such screen headliners as Joan Crawford, Robert Taylor, Lionel Barrymore Franchot Tone, Melvyn Douglas and James Stewart, "The Gorgeous Hussy" shows at Waipawa to-night as one of the finest pictures to f,ome from the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios. Perhaps the m.ost notable highlight oi the picture is the teaming of Miss Crawford with the sensational Robert Taylor, the most talked about film disvxvery since the first appearance of Clark Gable. The romantie pair offers a new high in love teams and their acting together gives the story ifs most poignant and unforgettable moments. Also outstanding, is the characterisation of Lionel Barrymore as Andrew Jackson, seventh President of the United States. In an almost uncannily lifelike make'up Barrymore gives a portrayal of the fiery and much maligned Jackson that must be li-sted as tlxe greatest oi his career.
