Hastings Celebrants in Police Court First results of the cclebration of Christnias were seen in the Hastings Police Coura this morning, when four statutory first offenders were charged before Mr F. C. Wilkinson, J.P., with being found drunk in Hastings iast evening. Three who had been bailed out for 10/-, were fined the amount of their bail, and the other, who had remained all night in the lock-up, was convicted and discharged. ''They were all young men who had just come down from, tlie camp at Wai- • kare, and they all had subsaAntial cheques," said Senior-Sergeant G. Siv•yer, in regard to the first three, wlio had been bailed and did not appear. To the remaining offender, the Beneh remarked , "When people wish a .merry Christnias, they do not raean you to make it too merry. You will be convicted and discharged on this occasion.
