Agreement Between N.Z, . and Australia Hon. W. Nash Satisfied

WELLINGTON, Tbis Day. After diseussions tbat bave spread over nearly two weeks, finality in tbe trade negotiations between tbe New Zealand Government and tbe Australian trade delegation, headed by LieutenantColonel, tbe Hon. T. W. White, wai reached to-day. Agreement was reach--ed on practically all points set down for consideration, and, at tbe conelusion of tbe formalities tbis morning, tbe Minister of Customs, tbe Hon. W. Nasb, stated in an interview tbat, after submission of tbe various recommendations to their respective Governments, it was boped tbat tbe way would bd paved to extended trade and improved relations between tbe two countries. "If the spirit sbown during the negotiations is carried into actual relations between tbe trading organisations, I am satisfied that notbing but good wUi result," said Mr, Nasb. In addition to trade diseussions, tbe negotiations bad also covered questions of new liners for tbe Pacific service, inauguration of tbe trans-Tasman air? ways service, proposals in counection witb tbe resorvation of trans-Tasmau sbipping to British 3hips, and other minor questions tbat reguired aetion by tbe two Governments. Mr, Nasb paid glowing trihnte to Lieutenant-Col. White and tbe memfceira of bis staff, Messrs, MqCartby and J* Fletcher. Whilo tbere bad been different views qxpressed on several problems, Mr Nash said tbat tbe diseussion necessary for tbeir solution could not have been carried out in a better spirit. Mark Fagau, Act-ing-Minister of Customs, but be added tbat tbe negotiations conld not liave been carried out without tbe splendid staff work of Messrs. D, Good, Cputroller of Customs, D, Tanner apd J. P. D. Jobnson, of tbe Customs Depaytment aud L. J, Sebmitt, F. Johuson, E. Wise and R. Jackson, of tbe BepaTtment pf Industries and Commerce.
