London's Popular "Talking I Clock" LONUON, l)ec. 14. A commentary on the number of people who forget to wind up their watclies and let their docks run down is found in the fact that in the past year the Postal Department's talking clock (Tim) told the time to 20,000,000 inquirers, tlius earning £^85,000. The time may be bought from any telephone machine in London, and hundreds of thousands of housewives sought the talking clock wcckly, using their home telephones at one penny a call. The Post Office has decidod to extend the time service by trunk-line to Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and later to other eentres.
