PALMERSTON N., Tbis Day. Particularly unfortunate circumgtances attended a fire in a liouso occupied by Mrs. W. G. Pye and Mrs. E. O'Connor in Josepb street, sbortly before 7 o'clock tbis morning, wben tbe building and its eontents were exlensively damaged. The flames already had a strong bold wben tbe brigade arrived and thc great volume of smoke necessxtat.ed tbe use of gasmasks. Miss N. D. Pyn in preparation for ber marriage bad on tbe premises many articles for l.cr new home, and the flames played havoc witb portion of tbese. Indications are tbat the fire originated near tbe kitcbcn.
