Ormsby Gore, informed tbe House of Commons at question time tbat be ex* pected to be able Bbortly to anaounce tbe character and terms of reference of the new Palestine Commission. There would be no noticeable delay in sending out tbe commission. Meanwbile, Govornment officials in Palestine were preparing data for it'S use. Eeferring to conditions in Palestine, be said tbey were somewhat improved, although sporadie acts of terrorism eontinued. Several gangs of terrorists were known to be still oparating. Tbese included a number of persons from outside Palestine wbo acted as leaders and o'rganisera. So far 26 Arabs bad been tried by tbe military Courts under the new regulations. Clombined columns of mounted police and Trans-Jordan Frontier Police were operating witb great aetivity in the north, and botb tbere and elsewbere vigorous steps were being taken to co'mbat tbe murder campaign. A Press Association cable from Jerusalem reports: Gangsters using the latest terrorist method cailed out an Arab householder at Beitummar and shot bim dead on his doorstep.
