Smart was charged witli theft in tlie Magistrate '-s Court this morning and- pleaded guilty, being ordered to eome np for sentenco when called upon within 32 months. Deteetive-Sergeant Holmes said that there had been thieving going on, and Smart had been watehed. He had taken artieles on De-emuer 8, and 2 '2. He was one of the senior membe'rs of the etaff and received £5 10/- a week. '
