(By Telegraph-
WELLINGTON, Last Night. { When Caolnot reassembles for duty earlv in the onow Year, it will address itself immediatfly to the task of formulating a basis for the legislation that .will give effect to the Government 's national health and superannuation scheme. In v.ew of ihe major importance of the scheme and the amount of work involved, it is the desire of the Prime Minister (Bt. Hon. M. J. Savage) to have as little delay as 'pcssible. Mr. 'savage will ;rai e for Auckland this evening, and wili return on Jnnuary 3, Jsiid with his Hinisters will deal with the scheme as soon as he retnrns. "We have had a committee at work for months collecting a lot of infonnation to pfovide ns with a national health and superannuation scheme," stated Mv. Savage in an interview to-
day. "Cabinet as a whole must finally approve nny scheme, and at the begin, iing it will the task of two or ;hree Ministers to get the scheme into -"hape. "There are people in this country ivho think it t'.annot be done," he added 'I say it can. I do not supose we will *each our . objective immediately, though we will make a substantial be^inning, and go further ahead than New Zealand has ever known in these respects. It was a great transformation ivhen New Zealand brought in the old ige pensions, and we will have a still ^reater oue now."
