Store Sheep Values at Hastings A firm market ruled for store sheep to-day, when the yarding was made up of wethers aud lambs. Fat and forward Down-eioas twotootk wethers, all kiLIable ,on account of Mr. A. P. Jolf, Ngatarawa, brought 24/10. Other lines of°two-tooth wethers, in forward order, made to 23/10. Fat and forward lambs, all killable, brought 21/- which made good selling. The first offering of the season of white-faced ewe lambs showing breeding, was made, selling at 24/-. Wether lambs, in forward order, improved slightly on last week's rates, makino to 20/-, according to eondition. Alt lines met with a keen inquiry, in which confidence in the buying was shown. The market can be gauged from the following prices for selected lines: — On aCcount of Mrs. M. Sheild, Waikonini, 175 early-shorn four-tootfi wethers, in medium eondition, off higli country, being ®eady for finishing, having been well wintered, sold at 24/-. An offering of 251 early-shorn, wellgrown two-tooth wethers, in forward eondition, beimr an attractive line of young sheep, sold at 23/7. On account of Mr. A. P. Joll, Ngatarawa, an offering of 291 forward South-down-cross two-tooth wethers, in exceptional order, brought 24/10. Practically the whole of this line were ready to hang up and should kill out as choice young mutton. An offering of 123 fairly-grown Southdown-cross lambs, in forward order, having been well done and ready lor iinishing on rape, brought 20/-. Lorried from Mohaka, 194 fairlygiovn white-faced lambs, iu quite good store order and healthy, brought 18/1, which did not make dear buying. An offering of 57 medium-grown white-faced ewe lambs, in bright order, making a useful carry-over line, were passed at 21/-. The second cut of whitefaced wether lambs out , of the draft from Mohaka, being smaller grown, wero passed at 15/10. An offering of fairly-grown whitefaced ewe lambs, quite well bred, being m sound and fresh order, and should, develop into a good breeding line, met the market at 24/2. An offering of 228 fat and forward bouthdown-cross two-tooth wethers, in splendid order aud showing quality, brought 27/7. / A line of 100 fat Down-eross lambs, all killable, sold well above the freezmg schedule at 21/-.
