HASTINGS SHOPS OPEN ALL DAY TO-MORROW

The statutory half-lioliday having been observed in Hastings this week on Monday afternoon, shops will be open all day to-morrow, thus allowing for uninterrupted shdpping. On Priday night there will be late shopping until 10 o'cloclc. Shops will then close for the Christmas week-end until Tuesday morning. Christmas shopping continues unabated in Hastings and yesterday afternoon, and again this morning, there were big erowds of people in the main business areas. A feature of the erowds is the number of children now doing shopping, some with their patents, but a surprisingly large number carrying out shopping expeditiona on their own account. Nearly everyone in the streets at tlie present time is to be seen carrying parcels and' packages, while womeifollc carry shopping bags that are well filled, i'requently to overflowing.
