NEW BRITISH AMBASSADOR TO CHINA

(Eeceived 22, 8.45 a.m.) EUGBY, Dec. 21. The Foreign Oflice announces that it has decided Sir Hughe KnatchbullHugessen should not return to China after his convalescence but should be recommended for appointment to another post. In his place the King has approved the appointment of Sir Archibald Clark Kerr, Ambassador to Baghdad, to be his Majesty's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to China. ' :r Archibald will proceed to China as soon as possible.
