Motor-Cyclist Who Defied Court Order THREAT 0F GA0L TERM

- CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. "It is a question of whether I should not treat this case as contempt of Court and impose an imprisonment term," declared Mr. Levvey, S.M., in the Magistrate 's Court to-day during the hearing of a case in which a youth, Stanley Arthur Dumpleton, was charged with riding a motor-cycle on December 19 not being the holder of a driver Js license. Inspector Wilson, of the Transport Department, who prosecuted, said Dumpleton had his license cancelled for two years only a week ago, when he was convicted for a driving oEence. On Sunday last the inspector saw him again riding a motor-cycle along the Main North road. "It is a great pity you have not the power to confiscate this rnan's machine," said the inspector, who added that he had a long talk with Dumpleton, who agreed to allow him £o sell the cycle. "I am tempted to give you what you deserve, young man," declared Mr, Levvey. "If you think you or othera can defy the Court 'a orders, you had better learn otherwise, "I will give you a further opportunity, but there will be no option of further suspension if there is any repetition of this sort of thing, ' ' continued the Magistrate, in convicting Dumpleton and ordering him to come up for sentence within 12 months if called up°ns -
