PALMERSTON N., This Day. Though no visiting horses have yet made their appearance, there was considerable activity on the Awapuni track this morning. The going was hard and fast, with the flags fifty f^et out. Laughing Lass, who has been doing good track work, was responsible for the best five furlongs in 1.5 3-5, Deating Great Hope. The best mile was dono by Wildfiower who, nioving exceedingly well, accounted for Taillight in 1.46 3-5. The Bigot beat Eound Score over the same distance in 1.49$. Havana Princess and Final ran five furlongs in 1.6. Copy Cat, drawing clear of All Blood, did the same distance in 1.8. Tidewaiter, despite casting two shoes during the gallop, easily field Noisy Night over six furlongs in 1.22. The smartest six furlongs was done by Corroboree, who took 1.15, Chat taking 1.21 3-5. Catalogue finished a six-fur-longs gallop -very strongly in 1.20. After being allowed to go- a little easily in the first stages, Old Surrey, who is improving with every gallop, got to the end of six furlongs in 1.19$. Dunmanway finished very easily in front of Aria over five furlongs in 1.6$. Conveyor and Hunting Love did five furlongs in 1.6, the same time being taken by Dawning Light, who was stopping quiekly at the finish. Bodyline daslied over a half-mile in 52 4-5sec. Rinaseor and Screen Lord took 37 3-5sec. for, a three-furlong flutter, going easily. Lady Ina ran five furlongs iu 1.5 3-5.
