Dash from Police at Palmerston North ARRESTED AT HASTINGS A prisoner,*who had been arrested at Hastings yesterday and remandCd to appear at Auckland, esCaped ffom custo#y on the Palmerston North railway station last evening^ while being transferred i'rom one train to another. A] though the alarm wks immediately given, no trace of the man could be found. ' The prisoner was Frederiek Hendry, aged 61. He was arrested yesterday at Hastings and appehred in the Court on a charge of indecently assaulting a fe.male at Auckland. On the application of Senior-Sergeant G. Sivyer, he was remanded to appear to-day at Auckland. Hendry is 61 years of age, 5ft. lOin. in height, and dressed in a light grey suit. He has grey hair and yees, a silver moustache, and is deaf.
