(Eeceived 20, 11.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, Dec. 20. During severe storms on the north eoa5t two persons were killed by lightning. John Brewer, aged 29, journalist, was playing criclcet. at Casino when a blinding flasli struck him and two team-mates down. Mr. Brewer was killed outright and the others were stunned. Wliere Mr. Brewer was standing, a hole a foot deep and three feot long was cut in the ground. Ivy Nicholas, aged 13, was killed at Murwillunibali in remarkable circumstances while listening to the wireless. It is believed that wlien lightning struck the aerial the current ran down into the set and leaped across on to the springs of a converted motor-seat used as a lounge, which the child was touching.
