Presentation to Canon Rice

WAIPUKURAU, Last Night. A farewc-i presentation to Canon Rice and to Mrs and Miss Mary Rice, who are retiring early next year, was made at the annual tea and prize-giv-ing of St. Mary's Sunday School. The hall had been decorated by Misses Norma Wharmby, Maisie Robertson and Mary Biichanan. The decorations included a Christmas tree from which gifts were handed to the children by Santa Claus (Mr L. Liddell). The following prize j were presented: — Church attendance: Velna Hill, Colin Bolton, Shirley Pettingell, ' Audrey Hurdsfield, Fred Lucas, Kathleen Lucas, Barbara Haldane, Jack Stoddart, Phil Stoddart. Senior girls: Gwen O'Connor and Jean Tinney (equal) 1; V. Hill 3. Senior boys: F. Lucas 1, Jim Townsend 2, Jack Stoddart 3. Junior boys: Jack Tinney 1, Ken Moore 2, Pat Dillon 3. Junior girls: K.
