PRIEST AND DEACON ORDAINED

At St. Augustine's Church, Napier, yesterday morning the Rev. Hamiora Rangiihu, of Hastings, was ordained priest and Mr. J. G. Talbot, Gisborne, deacon. The ordination ceremony was performed by the Bishop of Aotearoa, the Rt. Rev. F. A. Bennett, and the sermon was preached by Canon A. Neild, examining chaplain to the late Bishop of Waiapu. Others -taking part in the service were Canon E. H. Strong, principal of St. John's College, Auckland (of which both candidates are graduates), Canon- W. Williams, tho Rev. N. Williams (Napier) and Rev. S. R. Gardiner, (Vicar of St. Augustine's). The Rev. Rangiihu will work amongst the Maoris in the ' Hastings district, and Mr. Talbot will be assistant curate at St. Augustine's.
