FINDING ROLES FOR TWINS

Not publicity tMs time, but studio ingenuity, is being brougbt to tbe aid of a pair of players whose eventual hope is stardom. Billy and Bobby Mauch, the Mauch twins, have changea at least two stories at their home stu* dio (Warner Bros.) and may change more. The trouble really started baek wheu "Anthony Adverse ' ' was being filmed. Billy took the part of the young Anthony. He was an immediate success, and when the studio discovered that there were, so to speak, two of him, they signed Bobby also. that Mark Twain 's 1 ' Prince and the Pauper" was better suited to tha Mauch boys than to Freddie Bartholomew, who wasn't twins at all. But one picture is not a sehedule, and long and arduous ha's been the search for ifurther. stories for the Mauches. » It has terminated, at last, in three vehicles, one of whieh will star them. Booth Tarkington^s Penrod and Sara stories have been changed to "Penrod and His Twin Brother," and t^e Mauches are now making it. Mervy« LeKoy is to use them in one of his social-problem pictures, "Who Asked to Be Born?" and, most ingenious device of all, they will be put into the Hugh Walpole etory whieh Kay Prancis is to do, "A Prayer for My Son." It will be changed to "A Prayer ro*
