Rain fell so heavily during the second half of the Lpndon Cup match at Upton Park between West Ham United and Walthamstow Avenue on October 25 that officials and players were forced to take shelter for a time. Fog, hail and snow have stopped play or caused matches to be abandoned this season, but seldom has a referee had to call players off the field because of rain.
