Big Offering of Store Cattle STORE SHEEP FIRM
« (Froir
PALMERSTON N, This Day. The attendance at the Feilding live stock sale yesterday was larger than usual, the interest being attracted by a large offering of station cattle which experienced a sticky market. The bulk of the offering was on account of dealfirs, and while the market was quite ready to absorb the stock buyers were unable to deal at the prices Teserved by vendors. Some saies took place under the hammer and the realisations indieated a weakening tendency which, with plenty of feed now about, was rather disappointing. Tho store sheep section was repreaented by a good entry of two-tooth wethers which sold quite firinly considering the over-all quality of the yarding. The fat sheep market was steady for two-tooths but slightly weaker for ewe mutton, of which there was an aver-supply. The beef section offered a nice selection of cattle in good condition but tho business done indieated that the market was unsteady. There was quite- a heavy yarding of fat sheep of good quality, the entry being made up of ewes and two-looths, the iormer predominating. Values showed no variation on last week s quotations excepting that ewe mutton was a shade easier and the demand very. much short of the supply.
