THE USE OF LEISURE

The time is coming, said Henry Ford recently, when ; making a living would be the smailest of man's tasks, when by using a fraction of his time and strength, he could provide for his necessities. Everybody who thinks, realises that too much time is devoted to making a living, and not enough is spent on making a life. How soon the prophesied time of freedom will arrive, nobody can tell, but the ones who will be ready for it are those who are using their leisure now for the worth while things. There ara multitudes at present who, if they could e?rn their living by working tw0 hours a day, would become a burden to themselves, or else i menace to. society. They would hav? lo idea what to do with fourteen houra of leisure a day. The important question to consider is not how soon the hum'an race will be emancipated from drudgery by lavour-saving devices, but whether or not we should he ready for it if it came to-morrow.
