Crowds Celebrate Fall of Nanking (Eeeeived 16, 8.45 a.m.) TOKTO, Dec. 15. Two hundred thousand cheering Japanese surged through the streets and converged in the square before the Imperial Palace in celebration of the fall of Nanking. The Emperor^ his Imperial Majesty Hirohito, remained invisible, being a sacred figure, but the officers of the Imperial Household waved lanterns in acknowledgment of the cheers. Similar demonstrations took place in other cities.
