HASTINGS CRICKET
Meeting oi Sub-Association Executive HOLIDAY FIXTURES The fortnightly meeting of the Hastings Gricket Sub-Association was held last evening, when Mr A. D. Mahoney presidcd over a full attendance of delegates. Corre:Jpondence from the Hawke'fc Bay Cricket Association drew the attention of tearas to the necessity of supplying standard balls and they also advised that Palmerston North had found it necessary to cancel the Junior Cricket Week. Senior representative matches are to be played against Wairarapa, Central Hawke's Bay, Auckland Brabin Shield team and Wanganui during the holiday period. Endeavours are to be made to play a Junior Cricket Week between teams from Wairoa, Napier, Palmerston North and Hastings. Failing this Hastings will uieet the Combined Services in Napier, and Wairoa is to be approached regarding a game at Wairoa at New Year. It was decided to advise the United Club through the Hawke's Bay Association that the Cornwall Park wickets were at all times playable and would definitely improve every week, and that this committee, though admitting that the wielcets were not of the best senior standard, contended they were never in a deplorable coiiditionl Every satisfaction was expressed for the nianner in which the Hawke's Bay Cricket Association had co-operated in this matter. THIS WEEK'S FIXTURES. The following is the draw of matches to be played to-morrow and Saturday next. The second day of the mid-week competition will be played on Monday, December 20 and Saturday will conclude the first round of junior matches, and this grafie will divide into A and B sections as from Saturday, January 8, 1938. MID-WEEK COMPETITION. West End (gear) v. Methodist, Cornwall Park No. 1. United (gear) v. Heretaunga, Cornwall Park No. 2. SATURDAY, PLAY. Senior Grade. Rugby v. United, Cornwall Park No. 1. Hastings v. Napier H.S.O.B., Napier, No. 1. Hastings H.S.O.B. v. Technical Old Boys, Napier, No. 2. (This draw is subject to confirmation by tlie Hawke's Bay Cricket Association). . Junior Grade. Havelock (gear) v. Fruitworkers, at Havelock. High School (gear) v. Rugby, School Ground. Whakatu (gear) v. Otane, Nelson Park No. 1. Mahora (gear) v. High School B, Nelson Park No. 2.
