CANADA FORTIFIES PACIFIC COAST
(Received 15, 10.40 a.m.) TORONTO, Dec. 14. The Minister of Defence, Mr Mackenzie, in a speech at the Mililarv Tnstitute, outlined the Government 's "evised plans for fortification of the Pa' eifie alid Atlantic coasts. "At present," he said, "we are concentrating on the Pacifie coast for strategical reasons all will apprecia^c. The constrnetion of new fortification^ at Esquimalt, Vancouver and York Is- 1 land is under way." 1
