CELIBACY URGED
Newly-Ordained Angfican Clergy LONDON, Dec. 13. Voluntary celibacy on tlie part oi uewly-ordained Anglican clergy is urged in a memorial signed by prominent elnirchmen wliich was siibmitted to tlie Aarehbisliops of Canterbury and Yofk. They replied. "We xealise tlie i'&pOrtance of the -proposal and agree in tliinking tliat the sclieme might be of real value." The memorial suggests that the attention of theological students should be directed to the need for unmarried clergy, and that they should nndertake not to marry for five years after their ordination, after which they would be free to marry.
