Congratulations
Sir, — ^First I "Doffs me lid" to Mr Speaker. He is a fair and impartial judge and gives both sides a good rau for their money. His enunciation is a joy and one alwaye listens to all his rulings with great interest. Becond. I think that "Periscope" was entirely right in hauling Mr Christie over the coals for the use of the word parasite. The greatest parasite I agree, is the Trade Union Seeretary. There are others too numerous to mentaon, No one who helps to oil the xiiachinery of industry can be termecl k parasite. Third. The thoughtful letters from "Agur" have been very much enjoyed. As one touched on the Church and their teachings I thought he might be interested in J. H. Curle's latest hook "The Face of the World." Perhaps Mr Editor will find room for enclosed extract from it now that the Wellington gasworks have closed down. — Yours, etc., PAT ON THE BACIC;.
Sorry: We are unable to permit eorrespondents to develop the habit of submitting extracts from books or articles for publication in or with their letters. Brief quotations or reference3 are permissible. Like Mr Speaker we must rule out attempts to present ready-made arguments and opinions. — Editor.
