TIMARU, Last Night. Mr. D. O. Kidd, of Burke's Pass, was chosen fo-n?^ht by the Waitaki selection committee of the National Party to contest tlie election. The nomination was put forward by the principal branches of the. party. Mr. Kidd is Dominion president of the Crown Tenants' Association, is a member of the Oanterbury Land1 Board and holds one of the Mackenzie Oounty seats on the Timaru Harbour Board. Before the last election, when the candidature of Mr. T. D. Burnett for the Temuka seat w.as doubtful, Mr. Kidd was tEe selection to represent the National Party instead, if necessary.
