BACHELORS TELL HOW WOMEN SHOULD DRESS
; A survey of the ideas of young bache* jlors in New York offices on how women ought to dress was recently taken for •the benefit of American girls who wish. ,to be suitably turned out for very ispecial oecasions. Summed up, tbeir opinions are as foltows: — They like to see tbeir feminine friends well dressed, but not "dressed up." They dislike extreme clotbes and the appearance of a consciously strivexi effect. They vote for simplicity and "hate dresses with. flub-dubs." (This meana they dislike the kind of clothes in which. you pr they can become entangled.) They like dtesses which fit the figure — and reveal a good one — but hate dresses with too-tight hiplines or waistlines. They like black (if it does not look too gloomy) and most of the rich shades in vogue this season. But they like to see the dark hues xelieved with some bright touch of colour. (The average man gets bored with costumes entirely in neutral tones, no matter how smart the fashion books tell you they may be.) Men know much more about colour and which ones you should wear than you think. So study your skin tone, hair and eyes and learn which shades become you, because wearing the wrong I one is capable of setting "his" teeth on edge and spoiling more than an evening for you.
