MUNICIPAL THEATRE
"PEOPLE'S ENEMY" 8s "RICHEST GIRL IN THE WORLD," One of the strangest romantic film triangles is pictured in the story of "The Pepple's Enemy," written by Edward Dean Sullivan, which screens at the Municipal Theatre to-night. "The People's Enemy" offers the romantic and criminal life of the gangster as contrasting phsaes of the title cheracter. When Vince Falcone is sentenced by a eonrt to a long prison term for seeking to evade income tax payment, the depperado's attorney prpmotes a friendship with the convicfs wife, whom he neglected when she cared to remain innocent of his activities. The affiliation irks the gangster behind prison bars; and when the lawyer is charged with the duty of pleading fpr Falconer's release before the Parole Board, the story gains momentum to a thrilling finish. Players of the first rank are seen in the important parts in "The People's Enemy." Preston Foster; Melvyn Douglas, and Lila Lee cor prise the triangle and lesser roles are in the capable hands of Shirley Grey, Herbert Rawlinson, Sybil Elaine, William Gpllier, Jr., and Roscoe Ates. Second feature at thg Municipal Theatre is "Tfie Richest Girl in the World," with Miriarn Hopkins and Joel McCrea in the principal roles.
