Judge's Action to Clean Up Discrepancy RETURN OF DEBENTURES
(By Telegraph-
OHEISTCHUECH, This Day. The unusual course of reopening _ a Supreme Court case to clear up a discrepancy in evidence was taken this morning by Mr Justice North croft. The case is that in which three plaintiffs proceeded against the Australasian. Investment Corporation for the return of debentures with di-vidends paid in the Investment Executive Trust of New Zealand — Debentures which had been transferred for shares in the defendant company. In every instance it was alleged that the transfers were made on the representations of Osinond Arthur Bridgewater, and that those representations had prove false. The hearing of the claims was concluded yesterdey morning, when his Honour reserved his decision. At one stage this morning the Judge indicated to Mr E. A. Lee, who appeared for the defendant company, that a point in question should be cleared up. When the case was called Mr NorthcToft said that he was interested concerning the date on which certain documents were made available for execution by Mrs Collins (one of the plaintiffs). She had said that she left Christchurch on July 9, 1935, and that at that time the documents wero not available for execution. Bridgewater, on the other hand, had stated that the documents were, in fact, available on June 30 and July 1. After Bridgewater had given evidence, his Honour announced that he would take time to consider his decision.
