Man Arrested on Return To Dominion

DUNEDIN, Last Night. When JoJm Lee Aston, aged 43, was arrested for theft early in the month the police discovered that he was still wanted on a burglary charge committed in Dunedin in December, 1923. Aston appeared in Court this morning and admitted the 14-year-old charge. In view of the lapse of time the burglary charge was reduced to theft. Tho police stated that aceused had been in England, Canada and North and South America, and returned to New Zealand six months ago. He then came to Dunedin and lost all he had at the Forbury Park trots. Accused stated he was married in England where his wife was working for the Lon'don County Council. On the old charge he was sentenced to six months' imprisonment and to one month on the other, the sentences to be concurrent. ==========
