QUEENSWOOD SCHOOL PUPILS HOLD ANNUAL ATHLETIC SPORTS
The Queenswood School athletic sports were most successfullv held at C-ornwall Park yesterday afternoon and were watched by a number of parents and friends, several of the fathers of the pupils giving much assistance in starting and judging the races. The visitors were welcomed by the school prineipal, Miss Rixon, and the sports were arranged by the games mistress, Miss Dorothy Dobree. After the sports were over afternoon tea was servred in the Cornwall Park pavilion, and following this the presentation of cups and prizes took place. Miss JRixon expressed pleasure at having present sucli a number of visitors, and then called upon Mrs. J. D. H. Buchanan to present the trophies. The results of the various events were as follows Flat races: — Senior, B. Glark; intermediate, N. Ilyslop; junior, D. Mason. Hop, step and jump. — Senior, B. darkj intermediate, J. Wilson. Sack race. — Junior, P. Allan ; intermediate, J. AVilsoh, senior, A. ;Stokes . Three-legged race. — Senior and intermediate, A. Hindmarsh and P. Cashmore. Obstacle race. — J. Wilson. Staff race. — Mrs. Guthrie. Visitors' races. — Ladies, Mrs. Jasper Herrick; men, Hev. K. Liggett ; children, David Mason. Consolation, S. Maxwell.Points Cups. — Senior, B. Clark; intermediate, J. Milson ; junior, D. Mason. The relay race was won by tbe boarders' relay.
