The Letter H

"TEMPORA MUTANTUR."

Sir. — Your correspondent "Now Then" shows jugt as great a lack of eucation ag the people he criticises. To ridicule people who have not been able to get a good education is simply "not done" and shows a want of breeding in those who do so. Many of the early arrivals in New Zealand were poorly edueated, but they were splendid men and worked to make New Zealand what it is to-day, and it was not done by working 40 hours a week. There must be something wrong With either the education or intelligcnce of the later generation when anyone from a taxi-driver to a pick-and-shovel man is considered good enough to represent them in Parliament. —

Yours, etc

Waipukurau, Oec. 9, 1937.
