Man's Death at North Auckland

WHANGAREI, This Day. A f atal accident occurred in the bush at Mata yesterday, when Bert Howard, a|;ed 51^ married, with a grown-up family, was crushed by a log. Deceased, with another man, was working on the side of a hill, preparing a large kauri log for hauling, when the log euddenly started to move. Deceased slipped in attempting to .escape, the log passing over his head, causing inStantaneous death. A-r^ inquest was opened this afternoon bv the Coroner, Mr G. H. Morrish.
