Reappearance of the Good Juveniles FiLLDS REVIEWED
WELLINGTON, This Day. Exeepting the few engaged at the Waipa meeting next week, horses in the Wellington province will have thcir last ehance of a race before the Christrnas carnival opens when they parada at Woodville over the coming weekend. The iields did not thin down a great deal at acceptance tiine, and the ciass is much better than it has ,been at re cent meetings in tho province. interest will be taken in the reappearance of the good juveniles, Ainigo, Gay Son and Surmount, who are being given a windup gallop in view of their Foal Stakes eugagements at Auckland. The Bolton Handicap has drawn a good elass field of 11, and inost likely The Buzzer will be favourite. This pro- ' mising stayer reached winning form on the second day at Feiiding. Padishah i'ound the distance of the raees he contested at Feilding too ghort for him. Those eiforts would be sure to sharpeu him up. Legatee, following his success at Napier, was swept oif his feet by the pace in the handicap at Otaki, and might be seen in more favourable light if Saturday's race is run at a more even pace and he is given time to settla down. Soho' has not had much xecent racing, and the best of the lightweighta may be Lucullus Lad, and should have no diiiiculty in mastering the distance and who is more favourablv weighted than he was among the sprinters at Otaki. The withdrawal of The Bigot has made the Oete Handicap look much more open and improved prospects ot such horses as Joviality, Pakanui, Mata Hari and Wildliower. Symeony wilJ ,be having her first race for the season but she is brilliant. Aiwai also has noi raced this term in New Zealand. Oratory has a good weight, but ehe is elass, Most of the juveniles will be making their bow to the public. There may be something good among this lot, such as Kathbella, but the three tried performers, Amigo, Gay Son and Surmount, will command the attention oi the public. Amigo has been coughing lately, and may not .be quite as forward as his two rivals. Provision has been made to run the maiden race in divisions if necessary, and the meagre form available is coniined to Amoroso, Golden Memory, Twilight Song, Royal Tinge, Royal Portrait, Noisy Night and Ruling Spi. Top Hat heads the hurdles field, and he, Mahala, Cletrae and Hirangi, whose form was good in amajteur riders" events at the end of last season, may be the favourites. The best of the hack form may bo found among Siegmund, Fossicker, Reasonable, Mishna, Florence Milis, Gasman, Le Toquet, Lustral, Lacquer and Buster Brown. The following horses may be well supported in their engagements:^-MANGA-ATUA HURDLES: Top Hat, Mahala, Cletrae. MAIDEN STAKES: First Division— Twilight Song, Royal Tinge, Royal Picture. Second Division.^-Golden Memory, Amoroso, Noisy Night. BOLTON HANDICAP,— Padisha,h, The Buzzer, Lucullus Lad. NURSERY HANDICAP.— Gay Son, Amigo, Surmount. OETE HANDICAP— Oratory, Joviality, Mata Harl. BOROUGH HANDICAP— Siegmund, Mishna, Royal Reeord. MANGARAWA HANDICAP— Florence Mills, Gasman, Le Toquet. WHARITI HANDICAP— Lustral Lacquer, Chat.
