Power Board Donation. A donation of £l 1/- was made to the health-eamp funds by the Central Hawke's Bay Electrie Power Board at its meeting yesterday, Father Christmas Comes. The first of the festivities of the Chrietmas season, a party for members of the Juvenile Lodge Courfc Lindsav A.O.F., was held in the Masonic Hall, Waipukurau last night. A large crowd of children attended and spent an enjoyable evening. The function was organised by Court Sherwood, assisted by Conrt Ruahine. Radio Interference at Otane. When a complaint from an Otan-j resident about interference with radio reeeption, was i*eceived by the Central Hawke's Bay Power Board at its meeting yesterday, the inspector-engincer, Mr G. L. Beer, said there had been a great deal of trouble with interference in Ot&ne. The cause had now been located and remedied, faulty equipmenfc having been replaced. Obituary. News of the death of ,-frs Maria Freeman, of Hornby, Cantexbury, early this moiith has beerx received in , tkokino. The late Mrs Freeman was 68 years. of age, and was the second daughter of the late. Mr and Mrs William Simmons (early pioneers of Hamp•den Townshxp), and sr.ter of Mesdames W, Oliver and C. Green and R. Simmons, of Hampden. Mr Freeman died four years ago, leaving his widow and family of ten sons and daughters. Oue daughter died in February, 1936. The late Mrs Freeman had resided for 40 ; years at Hornby. Her other brothers ; and sxsters are: Messrs ^m. Simmons, ; Waipukurau, H. Simmons, Mangataiki, Walter Simmons, Mangatoro, G. Simmons and F. Simmons, Kereru; Mrs Pheobe Mason, Pongaroa. There is also a very large cirele of grand-child-ren and great grand-children. Tributes to the Press. TTibutes to the standard of the New Zealand Press, and referenee to the satisfactOry way in which Central Hawke's Bay was eatered for by its nowspapers, were made at the conelusion of the meeting yesterday of the Central Hawke's Bay Power Board by the chairman, Mr A. C. Russell. Mr Russell coxxveyed the good wishes of th.e board for a happy Christmas and New Year to the reporters present. In doing sq he said the distriet was well served by the Press, and remarked upon the absenee of "yellow" publications in New Zealand. \
